Timor-leste
Timor-Leste, also known as East Timor, is a Southeast Asian nation located on the eastern half of the island of Timor. It gained independence in 2002, making it one of the youngest countries in the world. The capital city is Dili, and the official languages are Tetum and Portuguese, with Indonesian and English also widely used.
Timor-Leste has a rich cultural heritage influenced by its indigenous traditions and centuries of Portuguese colonial rule. Its economy is primarily based on agriculture, with coffee being a key export, and oil and gas resources contributing significantly to government revenues. The country is also known for its stunning landscapes, from pristine beaches to mountainous terrains, making it a growing destination for eco-tourism.
Despite facing challenges such as poverty and infrastructure development, Timor-Leste is steadily progressing, focusing on education, healthcare, and sustainable economic growth.
